Hi all, this is my first post and I still only have the DEMO.

So far, i'm still getting used to building my base etc and I am constantly forgetting to build my army!  Instead I am relying on my PD's.

Big mistake for me, even on EASY settings, their light bots got past my PD's with forcefields up and started taking out my T1, T2 & T3 Land Factories.  Like I said, I had no army to stop them, all I have is the commander while my engy's rush to repair the buildings.

So far, i'm loving this game but I know that WHEN I buy the full version, my PC won't be able to handle it.

There is so many ways of attacking...

p.s. I feel that all sea vehicles are useless apart from the T3's.  One T3 destroyed a fleet of T1 & T2 shis with very little damage as their range is so vast.  I even took out their base by taking out the Energy Generators and creating a chain reaction.

One Generator took out another Generator next to it and so on and so on.

They were left defenseless...all the while, my construction of the T3 artillery was finishished and was shelling the crap out of them.  I didn't need an army afterall.

    :)

    Re: Hi

The latest patch that was release really balanced things out.  T3 battleships are still very devastating, but they're not unstoppable.  Instead of building PD and not building an army, try building zero point defense and all troops.  Try this initial build order to really get you going:

    2 x EG

    1 x ME

    1 x Land Factory

    3 x ME

    2 x EG

    1 x Land Factory

Build 3 or 4 engineers initially but then keep those factories churning out units.  Also, early on use your commander as an offensive unit.  He can take on 10-15 T1 units by himself (but be smart about it).  On that map you should be able to launch an attack on the AI's base within the first 3 minutes of the game.  Keep capturing more mass points with your commander as your army advances.  Then build additional land factories toward the middle of the map to keep the flow of units going.

Good luck, and let me know if any of that advice helps.

    Re: Hi

Hey man, welcome to the boards.

Finn's Revenge is a great way to get used to the game, but playing with only Cybran and on such a small map, it's hard to get a full idea of what the entire game is about. I agree with most of what Mr Argue is talking about in terms of building your forces and putting your commander out there as a combat unit very early on. Don't worry so much about winning the game with a navy, but use subs to shelve your opponents' naval units.

And yes, the full version does require a lot of computer. If Finn's revenge is running sluggish for you, I'd think about upgrading your system before you try to play larger games online.

Finn's Revenge runs great for me with no lag but on the DEMO campaign, when the map gets really large and there so many units on screen, then the game comes to a halt...like a slideshow.

    Re: Hi

yep thats definitely true. I tried to play a practice match against some npc opponents the other day setting it 8 on 8 or something like that trying some strategies and failing some others you know that sort of thing and just as i was about to finally win after about 3 hours of slowly and sluggishly pushing forward my game freezes and I give up kinda sucks but whats a guy to do.

oh and i really like the cybran t2 destroyer it isnt as strong as any t3 but tactically it gives alot of options being able to go on land. I like to use them in wierd ways to amuse myself i used them the other day by sending in a few bombers in to destroy point deffense then walking them in from mainland. my enemy wasnt using scouts or artillery for some reason and i wish i could have seen his face when he finally figured out what that slow moving mass was. Stick out tongue  it worked surprisingly well and i got a good laugh but i dont think i would try to repeat that it took for ever and wasnt very conducive to my A.D.D.
