    Disappointing loss...

Tripp and I played a 2 vs 2 (non-ranked) game on High Noon the other day.  The guy were were playing against (cFangNasty, I think) was unreal.  About 20 minutes into the game his teammate quits out.  It didn't make much of a different because the guy was aweful.  It was 2 on 1 and this guy went to town on both Tripp and I.  He was Cybran and built the experimental gunship, which apparently kicks ass, and is cheaper to build now.  He had a flight of 7-8 of these things taking out everything in sight.  He quickly moved them in and caught Tripp's commander napping.

My 20 T3 air defenses might as well been tossing spit wads at those things.  He went from one AA tower to the next and destroyed them all.  Then destroyed every structure in my base and only lost 1 of the 8 experimentals.  It was so decisive it almost didn't seem fair.  I've never bothered to build those things because they didn't used to be worth the cost.  Now after the patch I guess that's been changed.

Ouch. The Cybran gunships are pretty solid these days, huh? I think it's a good upgrade though, but is it just me - or are Cybran's Experimentals just the best out there nowadays?

I don't think there's any question about it.  The gunship absolutely wrecks havoc now.  The Monkeylord is cheap to build (by comparison) and still packs some punch.  The big game changer (in my opinion) is the Scathis.  Since they've lowered the energy that it requires to fire, you can have several operating at once and still keep your shields up.  I've had a couple of Isis games where I'd have 3-4 of them firing at once.  Needless to say, my opponents bases weren't standing for long.

I agree scathis is very useful these days especially on small maps such as this. a real game changer to be sure. but i dont like using them in any real attack on a large map they move too slowly and i find any intelligent opponent will chip them apart in any way necessary if he/she (i would assume) sees them coming. very good for base defense tho but they just dont seem to have enough damage or accuracy to takes down a sacred. speaking of which I have had quite a bit of trouble with these any one got a good strategy for taking one of these out?
